School Introduction

The beautiful campus is located in Oregon City, 15 miles from downtown Portland. The safe and secure community is near rolling farmland and scenic mountain landscapes. Nearby Mt. Hood offers year round skiing and snowboarding.

ESL Program Introduction

The Program for Intensive English offers five levels of instruction with core classes (conversation, grammar and reading/writing) and electives (pronunciation, American idioms, intercultural communication, TOEFL preparation, skills for college success, computer lab). The faculty all have advanced degrees in the field of teaching ESL and utilize current methods in their classes. There is a strong emphasis on communication skills. Every term a social activity is planned, where students learn some aspects about American culture. Advanced level students may take some college classes for credit. Graduates of the Program for Intensive English may enter Clackamas Community College with no TOEFL requirement.
