School Introduction

TSIE is a non-credit university intensive English-as-a-Second-Language Program at Texas State University-San Marcos (Texas State) for international students who want to improve thier command of English before entering an educational institution in the United States. Texas State has over 26,000 students and offers 110 majors. San Marcos is a small, safe, friendly city in the Texas hill country near Austin and San Antonio. San Marcos is famous for the springs of the San Marcos river and shopping at the factory outlet mall.

ESL Program Introduction

TSIE offers five levels of Grammar, Oral Skills, Reading, and Writing. An optional TOEFL preparation course is offered. Conditional admission to the Undergraduate and Graduate Bridge Programs is avialable to students with a TOEFL score 500-547 (173-210 CBT). Admission to the Undergraduate Bridge program is available to students with a TOEFL score 450-497.
