Nelex Canada: Nelson English Language Experience offers international students, aged 19 to 99, professional ESL instruction and fascinating vacation experiences.
Based in Nelson, British Columbia, Nelex is owned and operated by Fiona and Angus Glass, both experienced teachers and TEFL graduates.
Nelson is a beautiful small city, near both Vancouver and Calgary, that is a safe and friendly alternative to the big city, but with all big city amenties.
Known as the "queen city" and "the number one small art town in Canada", Nelson is renowned for its over 350 beautifully restored heritage buildings, unusual boutique stores, working artists and artisans, and spectacular lakeside setting.
Nelex Canada offers students 2 classroom and homestay options - our main classroom and homestay is located in a restored heritage home right in the heart of Nelson, on a tree-lined boulevard, only one block from the main street, and at the foot of one of the city's premier parks.
Our second Nelex classroom and homestay is located only 15 minutes drive from downtown, overlooking Kootenay Lake, and offers a rural retreat for students seeking quieter pleasures.
Nelex Canada offers professional, personalized and fun ESL instruction, delivered by TESOL/ TEFL certified and experienced teachers.
We cap our classes at a maximum of 6 students, so that each student can express their personal learning goals and receive individual attention.
At Nelex we pride ourselves on our ability to create flexible and meaningful programs for individuals and groups - these may range from one week to one year programs.Students simply tell us what they are interested in and we create a customized proposal for them to consider.
Our students may choose program options that include TOEFL and TOEIC preparation as well as intensive ESL instruction based on their own needs.
We also offer business english programs that include preparing and making presentations.
On a more informal basis, we offer a variety of ESL study and vacation packages.
Our basic 1 week and 2 week packages include 5 days/week of ESL instruction, followed by fun vacation activities (hiking, picnics, visits to natural hot springs), meals and homestay accommodation.
Other packages include ESL and golf, ESL for women only (including health spas, cooking and nutrition classes) and guided vacation experiences.
