Founded in 1989, JBC offers an intimate setting in which international students from many countries can study English. At JBC, we focus on meeting the educational needs of each student through individual attention and student participation.
With no more than eight students per instructor, class sizes are kept small. Our learning programs will help you develop the skills necessary for successful communication in English in a friendly and comfortable environment.
JBC Language is authorized by the U.S. Government to issue I-20 Forms for F-1 (student) visas. If you wish to study on an F-1 visa, you must take at least 18 hours of classes per week, choosing among a variety of courses offered. You may combine Japanese and English courses to fulfill the 18-hour requirement.
JBC provides a wide range of courses for students ESL. English as a Second Language (ESL) is offered at all levels. We offer programs to improve conversational skills in business or casual settings. Students learn to carry on daily conversations, read newspapers, and develop writing skills. We also provide assistance in preparing for standardized proficiency exams including the iBT TOEFL (English) and IELTS (English).
We are also willing and able to customize a program of private instruction to meet the specific needs of any student.

Schedule: Classes in session from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday thru Friday
Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Courses begin every first Monday of every Month.
This course includes four hours daily of grammar, reading, writing and conversation plus one/two hours a day of Intensive conversation. The super intensive course is ideal for students who intend to come to the USA for 26 weeks, but can be taken in periods of two to 52 weeks.
iBT TOEFL preparation: “Advanced Students only”
When the student is almost ready to take the TOEFL test, we minister a fast preparation course, which will allow the student to take the test with confidence and get the score you need. Classes of writing, reading, listening and Interpretation are applied in simulated tests to make sure the student is ready! Use of our computers will make you feel like you are taking the real test.
