Housing/Accommodation Info The IELC Homestay program allows the language center students the opportunity to live with an American family, providing a great chance for students to learn about American traditions and customs. We believe students who live with an American family benefit considerably in their development and understanding of English. Many aspects of language can be taught in the classroom, but personal contact with American culture in the context of common everyday situations is an invaluable experience for the student and the host family. Dormitory housing is available to IELC students on a limited basis. Living on campus provides students with opportunities to develop a variety of social relationships and to have the convenience of university facilities. Resident students have the unique opportunity of experiencing a small collegiate community where social interaction with other students and faulty members is encouraged. More information on university housing can be found at http://www.csub.edu/housing. Many IELC students enjoy apartment living while attending school in Bakersfield. The university is surrounded by many moderately priced apartments, which are within walking distance of the campus and shopping. Contact Info
