School Introduction

Hawthorn English Language Centre, once affiliated with Hawthorn English at the University of Melbourne, is a vibrant part of the TMC Education Group. We are an English-language school that offers 10-week courses in the following levels: pre-elementary, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, advanced, and IELTS preparation. Our teachers are creative, who insist that the students do the speaking--not them. Students often will be exposed to: field trips throughout Singapore; being videod (and perhaps appearing on You Tube!); engaging in debates and competitions; hearing guest speakers. We're a rigorous, yet friendly and exciting school.

ESL Program Introduction

We offer 10-week courses in pre-elementary, beginner, pre-intermediate, intermediate, English for Academic Purposes, and IELTS preparation. We also offer study tours and training for overseas professionals and government officials.

Students will be given opportunity to improve their reading, writing, speaking, listening, and grammar. Our students come from China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand, Korea, and Russia. They are regularly assessed in these areas.

Winter: January - April (with two weeks off for Chinese New Year)

We will assist students in obtaining housing in Singapore.
All classes run from 9:00-3:30 Monday-Friday, with a morning break and an hour off for lunch.
