Boston University is a large, private, urban university on the banks of the Charles River, neart the historic, cultural, retail, and financial centers of Boston. With a high concentration of colleges and universities in the area, college students are an important part of the Boston Community. There are more than sixty colleges and universities in the greater Boston area alone. The many resources and possibilities of a busy city like Boston attract many international visitors overseas for the first time. ESL Program Introduction CELOP offers excellent teachers, a desirable location, the newest technology, personal student services and a strong curriculum. CELOP is an integral part of Boston University. The Center has offered specially designed intensive English language programs for international students who wish to improve their English proficiency for over twenty years. The majority of these students are preparing for study in American university; others are pursuing business or other activities.
