ELI at the University of Bridgeport is located on an urban campus by the seaside of Connecticut. The University is an international, comprehensive university with an emphasis on career development of approximately 3000 students from 90 countries. Here you will meet students from all over the world. Examples of strong undergraduate programs are Computer Science, International Business, Industrial Design, and International Political Economy & Diplomacy. Graduate programs include Chiropractic and Naturopathic Medicine. New York City is an easy, one-hour train ride away, and Connecticut has many popular museums, theaters, and picturesque towns. Housing is always available on campus, five minutes walk from class. ESL Program Introduction ELI focuses on preparing students for university work in the United States. Students attend classes 25 hours per week in reading, writing, listening, & speaking. Curriculum highlights include newsletter writing, skit presentation, research papers, oral presentations, conversation practice and using our computer laboratory with selected websites, software, & videos. We feature small class sizes, from 5 to 15 students, and we have dedicated and enthusiastic teachers with specialized degrees. Our graduates automatically meet the English language requirement of the University of Bridgeport and can begin their degree program at the start of the following semester. ELI organizes trips to points of cultural and recreational interest in the region and celebrates American holidays with activities and parties. Background Data

Housing/Accommodation Info Students can almost always get housing on-campus. Rooms are double occupancy and we try to match roommates from different countries. During the fall and spring sessions, housing includes meals on-campus. During the summer sessions, there is no meal service and the housing fee is reduced. Many students live in apartments off-campus, but we don't provide assistance. Contact Info
