School Introduction

American English Institute is an intensive language school for non-native English speakers who need English language instruction in order to enter a college or university in the United States. AEI is housed on the campus of Oklahoma Christian University in the safe environment of Oklahoma City, OK. Oklahoma Christian University issues an I-20 for each qualified applicant who wishes to obtain an F-1 visa in order to enter the U.S.A. to study English at AEI; upon successful completion of the English language study, applicants may enter one of the degree programs of the university. The most popular majors at OC for international students include accounting, marketing, business administration, pre-med studies, electrical and mechanical engineering, mathematics, biology, chemistry, computer information systems, education, mass communication, teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL), and advertising design. ESL Program Introduction

Established in 1989, AEI has taught EFL/ESL to numerous students from countries in Europe, South and Central America, Asia, and Africa. Classes are interactive in nature with emphasis on listening, speaking, reading and writing. Computerized instruction is incorporated into every term of study. Co-curricular activities to various cultural sites in Oklahoma, Texas, and surrounding states support the formal classroom instruction.

AEI is a member of TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages), Oklahoma TESOL, and the American Association of Intensive English Programs. All teachers are native English speakers with degrees from U.S. universities; they are experienced in teaching English.

AEI students have full access to the facilities of Oklahoma Christian University. Those facilities include computer labs, student center, post office, cafeteria, dormitories, apartments, library, bookstore, and athletic venues (tennis courts, soccer, baseball, softball fields, basketball courts, gymnasium, fitness center, table tennis, indoor swimming pool, billiards, and an outdoor track).
