The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNOmaha) is an accredited, four-year institutin with more than 14,000 students, over 800 of them from foreigh countries. UNOmaha offers many undergraduate and graduate degrees, and ILUNO students may apply for conditional admission to these degree programs. UNOmaha's international programs include the only Center for Afghanistan Studies in the world, an annual Third World Stuies Conference and an annual European Studies Conference, affiliations with universities in Europe and Asia, an annual International Festival and an undergraduate major in International Studies with an emphasis in International Mangement and Business. ILUNO students have full use of all University facilities including the library, computer center, student health center, athletic areas and cafeterias.
ESL Program Introduction It is convenient to enroll for ILUNO because new classes are offered several times per year. Courses are offered from beginning to advanced levels. Students receive training in conversaton, listening comprehension, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading, grammar and writing. Because the classes are small, students receive personal attention. Learning continues outside the classroom, too. Students take frequent tours of Omaha and the surrounding area, and visit American families. Students advisors assist students in finding housing or homestays, meet Americans,apply to academic programs, open bank accounts, obtain medical and dental care and help handle immigration paperwork.
