ESL Program Introduction The American Language and Culture Program is the University of Idaho's intensive English program designed to prepare students for success in university academic (graduate and undergraduate) programs. The ALCP is divided into six levels, from beginner to advanced. Completion of ALCP Level 5 fulfills the University of Idaho's English Language Proficiency requirement (525 score on the TOEFL). ALCP Level 6 is designed to prepare non-native speakers of English for the advanced course work required of graduate students. Our record of preparing students for success is remarkable, due in large part to our dedicated and accomplished teachers and our progressive staff. ALCP is a small program in a safe, friendly and scenic community. This allows us to offer small classes, with low student to teacher ratios. We provide students many opportunities to become involved in the community, meet U.S. people, practice your English skills, and transition easily into other programs at the University. ALCP students find the University of Idaho, and community of Moscow, a comfortable and interesting environment in which to study English. Background Data
