School Introduction

New York Language Center has five branches in New York City. The Manhattan branch is located on the beautiful upper West side near Columbia University. The Queens branches of Woodside, Jackson Heights, and Corona and the Bronx branch are all located in residential neighborhoods, and are recommended for students requesting homestays. The Manhattan, Woodside, and Jackson Heights branches all offer special advanced courses such as TOEFL preparation.

ESL Program Introduction

Our Intensive Language Program (ILP) for overseas students includes twenty hours of English instruction per week. Students may study from 8 am to 12 pm or 10 am to 2:30 pm. Our advanced courses include conversation, grammar, writing, and TOEFL preparation. New York Language Center has written its own text books and audiovisual materials at several levels. All teachers meet the New York State Department of Education requirements. Weekend trips to Washington, Boston, Philadelphia and Niagara Falls are available.

Open throughout the year, with new classes starting every five weeks. Students may study with us for 4 weeks to 12 months.
Start dates for 2005: January 24, 2005; February 28, 2005; April 4, 2005; May 9, 2005; June 13, 2005; July 18, 2005; August 22, 2005; September 26, 2005; October 31, 2005; December 5, 2005

Tuition: 5 weeks ($450), 10 weeks ($850), 15 weeks ($1,300), 20 weeks ($1,650); additional fee for TOEFL preparation.
Application fee: $100
Housing: $45 placement fee and $850 to $1,300 for a four-week stay, depending on location.
