School Introduction

North Shore H.A.L.E. is a short-term English language and Hawaiian cultural program for international visitors who want to improve their English while on vacation in Hawai‘i. We believe learning English should be a fun, interesting, active, hands-on experience that includes as much exposure and use of English as possible. Programs range from about one week to one month and can include English and Hawaiian culture classes (including hula) and outdoor activities such as surfing lessons, snorkeling, hikes, and educational tours. Other specialized classes are available upon request. We can also arrange homestays or help you find other accommodations in the North Shore area.

Our aim is to improve world understanding and global relations by
1) giving international visitors a meaningful and educational experience that will increase their understanding of Americans and Hawaiians and
2) helping Hawai‘i residents who interact with our foreign guests to gain a better understanding of other cultures.

ESL Program Introduction

We custom-design special programs upon request for school groups, clubs, or other organizations. Program options include English classes, on-site Hawaiian culture classes, surfing lessons, kayaking, snorkeling, cultural excursions, community service-learning, school visits, teacher training, and lifeguard or marine sports training. A minimum of six students is required for these special programs. Please contact us to discuss your request.
