School Introduction

Our ELS Language Center in Houston, Texas is on the campus of the University of St. Thomas (UST) and is located in a beautiful building in Houston's Museum District, across the street from the UST admission's office and athletic fields. Houston is America's fourth largest city and is the center of the world's energy industry and a major destination for international students. Many students enjoy weekend visits to the National Air and Space Administration (NASA) Space Center Houston, Gulf of Mexico beaches, San Antonio, Dallas, New Orleans and Mexico.

ESL Program Introduction

This location offers group Intensive (30 lessons per week), Semi-Intensive (20 lessons per week) and American Explorer (15 lessons per week) English programs. TOEFL IBT Prep Program and GRE Prep Program are also offered at this location.

Students in the Intensive, Semi-Intensive & American Explorer English Programs offer instruction and practice in all key language skills: speaking, listening, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading & writing. The Intensive English Program also offers afternoon elective classes that focus on specific interests (such as American Idioms, American Film, Current Events and American Culture).

The comprehensive, 12-week TOEFL iBT Prep Program (30 lessons per week) offers practice in reading & listening skills, writing and speaking, as well as test-taking strategies to help increase the TOEFL score.

The GRE prep 6-hour per day program combines advanced language enrichment with one hour of GRE® language self-study and two hours of GRE® Test Prep strategies. Four or eight (recommended) week options are available. The maximum class size is 15.

A Business English program is also available (30 lessons per week) for up to 3 sessions. This program focuses on Business vocabulary and conversation pertaining to business.

Private instruction for Executives is also available.
