School Introduction

ELS Language Centers/Miami Shores is located on the campus of Barry University, a 4-year, private institution. Located in a quiet suburb of Miami, the 36-hectare campus is less than 30 minutes form downtown Miami. Students can visit Miami Beach, South Beach, Bayside Market Place and beautiful Bal Harbor. Orlando and Key West are just a half-day away. Enjoy outdoor activities like scuba diving, snorkeling, jet skiing, boating and windsurfing. Barry enrolls students from 49 states and 80 countries. The subtropical environment, beautiful landscaped campus, and Spanish-style architecture are perfect for quiet reflection, study or getting together with friends.

ESL Program Introduction

This location offers group Intensive (30 lessons per week), Semi-Intensive (20 lessons per week) and American Explorer (15 lessons per week) English programs.

Students in the Intensive, Semi-Intensive & American Explorer English Programs offer instruction and practice in all key language skills: speaking, listening, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading & writing. The Intensive English Program also offers afternoon elective classes that focus on specific interests (such as American Idioms, American Film, Current Events and American Culture).

A Business English Program (30 lessons per week) is offered, focusing on Business vocabulary and business conversation.

Private instruction for Executives is also available.
