School Introduction

ELS/Pittsburgh is located on the urban campus of Point Park College (PPC), an independent, co-educational University with an enrollment of approximately 2500 students located in downtown Pittsburgh, PA. Point Park is best known for its distinguished programs in theatre, dance, business, journalism and communications, education, and engineering technology.

Pittsburgh is one of America's most dynamic cities. Once known primarily for its steel industry, Pittsburgh has emerged in the 21st century as a revitalized and thriving metropolis. Yet, despite the sweeping changes, Pittsburgh has managed to retain the charm and friendliness of a small town. Students have access to world-class theater, arts and entertainment as well as professional sports teams including baseball, American football and ice hockey.

ESL Program Introduction

This location offers group Intensive (30 lessons per week), Semi-Intensive (20 lessons per week) and American Explorer (15 lessons per week) English programs.

Students in the Intensive, Semi-Intensive & American Explorer English Programs offer instruction and practice in all key language skills: speaking, listening, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading & writing. The Intensive English Program also offers afternoon elective classes that focus on specific interests (such as American Idioms, American Film, Current Events and American Culture).
