Capistrano Valley Christian High SchoolELD/International StudentsSan Juan Capistrano, California USA
Our safe campus is located in Southern California, one mile from the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Students are mainstreamed into regular high school courses, and they can participate in a variety of activities. We have a small international student population so that international students have the opportunity to practice their English language skills effectively. Homestays are available. We have a strong academic, college-preparatory program, and the average CVCS student tests two years ahead of the national average. Our athletics program is very strong and includes soccer, football, baseball, softball, volleyball, golf, basketbal, cross-country, surfing, and tennis. Students must possesss at least an intermediate level of English language proficiency to attend our high school. ESL Program Introduction The faculty of the ESL program (called ELD) minimally possess a Master's Degree and have many years of experience. Students take 1-3 ESL courses along with their regular high school courses. These courses help support the students in their studies. Additionally, students are assigned computer lab study hall, a time when students can get tutoring help on any assignment they have. The ELD students take at least three field trips a year to such places as Disneyland or Knott's Berry Farm, theaters, museums, beaches, horse ranches, or other fun places. Background Data
