School Introduction

Founded in 1897, San Diego State University is the largest of the 23 campuses in the California State University system, with an enrollment of about 34,000 students. The College of Business Administration is the forth largest business program in the U.S. The College has been named one of the "25 Best Business Schools for Entrepreneurs in America," according to Success Magazine.San Diego State University, is centrally located on-campus in a residential neighborhood, just east of downtown San Diego - one of America's safest and most beautiful cities. ESL Program Introduction

The American Language Institute, San Diego State University, one of the largest and most highly regarded English Language Programs in the U.S., offers year-round intensive English programs for international students, professionals, corporations, and government agencies. Since 1974, the ALI has served annually up to 3,000 students from nearly 70 countries. The ALI offers a broad variety of programs to suit each student's needs and goals. The Institute comprises three major divisions: English for Academic Purposes, which includes TOEFL and Pre-MBA Preparation, International for English Communications, Certificates in Business, hospitablity and Turism management group study tours, and teacher training.The American Language Institute stresses academic and professional excellence. Content courses are taught by ESL professionals with training and education in that field, such as business administration, marketing, accounting, international business, microbiology, computer science, engineering, computer programming, mathematics, and other fields. Most ALI teachers have master’s degrees and some hold doctorates. Many have written ESL textbooks.
