School Introduction

Arizona Western College offers two-year degrees and certificate programs in many fields. It is located near Yuma, Arizona. Yuma is on the border of California and about 20 miles from the Mexican border. It is surrounded by a combination of an agricultural area and desert. However, with a year-round populataion of over 60,000 and a winter population of 120,000, it has a reasonable variety of restaurants and shopping. Daytime temperatures in the winter average about 70 degrees F.

ESL Program Introduction

The ESL program has 5 levels, which run from beginner to advanced. Each level has classes in reading, writing, and grammar. In addition, optional classes are offered in listening and speaking, conversation, pronunciation, computer basics, and Internet, depending on the needs of individual students.
