School Introduction

Located in what's been called 'America's most intersting city' MLI is right on the historic streetcar line which makes transportation to the school easy. Some refer to historic New Orleans as “The Big Easy” because living here really is easy. The daily pace is slow and people are friendly and hospitable and the food is great!

The cost of living in New Orleans is lower than in most other American cities, and its diverse neighborhoods make it relatively easy to find a place to live.

ESL Program Introduction

Regular Classes
Classes consist of small groups at four levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced Intermediate, and Advanced. Students are given placement tests before being assigned to a group. Classes are held Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Each hour of class is given by a different instructor.

Intensive Course
We offer this special course for those students who wish to achieve in a few weeks what would normally take a few months in the regular course. The program consists of 12 weeks of group classes with 20 weekly hours, and 100 hours of private instruction, or 6 weeks in a group plus 50 private hours.

Modern Languages Institute works on an open registration system. Students can enter the school at any time of the year and stay for as long as they want depending on thier needs.
