As the nation's capital, Washington, D.C. is the center of America's history, culture, and political life. The city is home to major universities such as Georgetown and American, and it offers an abundance of national and historic monuments and museums such as the renowned Smithsonian and the Air and Space Museum. It is easy to plan weekend trips to Philadelphia, New York, the mountains of Virginia, and the beaches of Maryland.
The D.C. City Center enjoys a central location near George Washington University, Embassy Row, and Dupont Circle—an area filled with shops, restaurants, cinemas, and outdoor cafes. Students studying at the center are only a five-minute walk from the excellent and safe subway system, which they can take to the White House, the Capitol building, and the Lincoln and Washington memorials.
Kaplan is the most highly respected institution for American University entrance preparation at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. We offer English for all levels and interests, as well as expert TOEFL, GMAT and GRE preparation. We offer English and Test Preparation classes in more than 100 centers around the country, and we are authorized to issue the form I-20 for international students interested in studying in the US.
