School Introduction

The English Language Institute in the College of Liberal Arts at Texas A&M University is in College Station, Texas, a university community of 150,000 people, located approximately 100 miles from the cities of Houston and Austin. You can study English in this safe, friendly environment on the main campus of Texas A&M -- a land grant, sea grant, and space grant university. NASA, the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and the Office of Naval Research fund research projects at Texas A&M.

This intensive English program facilitates international students' participation in technology, science, and management. Enriched by the arts and humanities, the Institute serves current and future university students and emphasizes diversity and excellence. Enrollment in the ELI will provide you access to all Texas A&M facilities: campus libraries and computer laboratories, state-of-the-art recreational facilities, student health center, sporting and entertainment events.

ESL Program Introduction

ELI will assign you American conversation partners, who will meet you outside of class and occasionally join you in ELI classes. Your ELI classmates will include international students who are co-enrolled in graduate and undergraduate classes in Texas A&M academic departments.

The ELI provides students with cultural orientation, faculty advisors, TOEFL classes, and GRE and GMAT study in a fully-equipped language lab with assistance from a Laboratory Supervisor.
